Capital express group sets ambitious vision with rebrand, expansion

Capital Express Group has unveiled its newly restructured insurance entities, Capital Express Life Assurance Limited and Capital Express Indemnity Insurance Limited. The announcement came during a formal launch event in Lagos, signaling the group’s intent to position itself as a leader in both life and general insurance segments.

The rebranding of Capital Express Assurance Limited to ‘Capital Express Life Assurance Limited’ and the launch of ‘Capital Express Indemnity Insurance Limited’ mark a significant milestone, creating a unified Capital Express Insurance Group. This strategic restructuring highlights the group’s commitment to delivering tailored insurance solutions that address the evolving needs of individuals and businesses across Nigeria.

Chairman of Capital Express Group, Anthony Aletor, described the rebrand as “a dawn of a new era,” emphasizing the company’s focus on innovation, integrity, and customer satisfaction. He stated, ““This rebrand and expansion mark the dawn of a new era for Capital Express. With the launch of the Capital Express Insurance Group, we are demonstrating our commitment to delivering cutting-edge insurance solutions while maintaining our core values of integrity, customer satisfaction, and innovation.”

Representing the Commissioner for Insurance, Olusegun Omosehin, at the event, Dr. Julius Odidi of the National Insurance Commission praised the group’s leadership for their visionary approach. He underscored the critical role the new insurance group could play in driving increased insurance penetration in Nigeria, a sector still grappling with low adoption rates despite its potential for growth.

Further elaborating on the group’s strategic vision, Managing Director/CEO of Capital Express Life Assurance Limited, Mathew Ogwezhi, explained that the rebranding extends beyond name changes. Our transformation into Capital Express Life Assurance Limited is not just a rebrand; it is a reaffirmation of our commitment to creating value for our clients and stakeholders. Together with Capital Express Indemnity Insurance Limited, we are stronger, more innovative, and ready to lead the insurance industry into the future,” Ogwezhi said.

Similarly, the MD/CEO of Capital Express Indemnity Insurance Limited, Adewale Koko, emphasized the group’s focus on innovation and personalization. He described the restructuring as a “strategic leap” that positions the company to offer dynamic general insurance solutions.
