NSIA insurance deepens commitment to education with school adoption initiative

NSIA Insurance Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing education in Nigeria through the donation of furniture and essential back-to-school items to Government College, Victoria Island, Lagos. The initiative, part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), took place on Friday within the school’s premises.

The insurance firm’s gesture highlights its broader vision to support educational infrastructure and provide students with a conducive learning environment. Government College, Victoria Island, was adopted by NSIA Insurance in 2023 as part of its pledge to nurture the next generation of leaders.

Speaking at the event, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Moruf Apampa, emphasized the transformative role of education in nation-building, reiterating the company’s commitment to long-term CSR initiatives. This is a part of our pledge to empower the next generation of leaders and contribute to the advancement of education in Nigeria.

“We believe in the transformative power of education to build a nation and equip individuals with the necessary skills to solve the challenges of today and create opportunities for tomorrow. This is why NSIA Insurance Limited has made it a mission to find schools, like this, that we can adopt and support in any way we can,” he said.

The Principal of Government College, Mrs Bridget Oyedele, expressed heartfelt appreciation on behalf of the school’s management, students, and parents. Reading an official letter of gratitude, Oyedele highlighted the positive impact of the donation on the school community. “Your donation has brought joy and excitement to our school community. These chairs and desks will not only provide our students with a comfortable and conducive learning environment but also inspire them to reach their full potential. Your donation will have a lasting impact on our school and our students. We pledge to make good use of these resources and to continue striving for excellence in education,” she said.

The event was attended by NSIA Insurance’s leadership team, including Executive Director Abideen Musa, Chief Operating Officer Thomas Yebouet, and other top management staff, alongside school representatives, teachers, and students.
