Glo targets Nigerian travelers with expanded data roaming bundles
Nigerian telecommunications giant, Glo, has expanded its data roaming services to cater to the growing needs of travelers seeking seamless communication abroad. With affordable and flexible plans, the initiative aims to support Nigerian travelers navigating the digital demands of business and leisure globally.
In a statement released on Monday, Glo highlighted the importance of staying connected while abroad, particularly for Nigerians who rely on mobile data for work, communication, and sharing personal moments. The new data roaming bundles cover 40 countries and 46 networks, including major destinations like the United States, United Kingdom, France, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, and India.
Designed to accommodate varying needs, the data bundles range from small to high-volume packages. For instance, Glo offers 50MB valid for 3 days at For N2,500, subscribers get 50MB of roaming data, valid for 3 days. For N5,000, customers receive 125MB of roaming data, valid for 7 days. N10,000 provides 1GB of roaming data, valid for 10 days. For N25,000, subscribers receive 2.5GB of roaming data, valid for 30 days, and for N50,000, customers get 6GB of roaming data, valid for 60 days.”
Prepaid customers enjoy automatic access to roaming services, while postpaid subscribers must activate the service before purchasing a bundle. The roaming service begins once travelers arrive at their destination and start browsing. Subscribers can access the bundles by dialing *312# and selecting option 5, either while in Nigeria or at their destination.
Glo emphasized the importance of connecting to its recommended networks listed on the company’s website to avoid higher Pay-As-You-Go charges. Regular usage notifications will also help users monitor data consumption and ensure efficient usage.
“The service is available on 46 selected networks across 40 countries, including the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, the United Arab Emirates, Kenya, Ireland, Brazil, India, South Africa, and others.”
