LIRS chairman advocates lifelong learning as he eeceives honorary doctorate

The Executive Chairman of the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS), Ayodele Subair, has called on graduates to embrace lifelong learning and become agents of change in society. He made this appeal while receiving an honorary doctorate in Business Administration from Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, during its 13th convocation ceremony and 25th anniversary.

In his acceptance speech, Dr. Subair expressed deep gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing the transformative power of education and its role in shaping the future. Addressing the students, he highlighted their critical position as future leaders, innovators, and contributors to societal growth.

The Vice Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Prof. Olugbenga Ige, commended Dr. Subair for his exemplary leadership at LIRS, where his efforts have significantly enhanced the development of taxation in Nigeria.

LIRS Deputy Director of Corporate Communications, Monsurat Amasa-Oyelude, also celebrated the achievement, describing it as a reflection of the agency’s commitment to excellence and community development.

“We are incredibly proud of Dr. Subair for this well-deserved honour.

“This recognition not only celebrates his achievements but also reflects the values we uphold at LIRS. Together, we look forward to achieving even greater milestones and fostering community development,” she said.
