Dangote refinery introduces holiday fuel discounts to ease Yuletide transportation costs
Dangote Refinery has slashed the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to N899.50 per litre. This latest adjustment underscores the company’s commitment to supporting Nigerians during a period typically marked by increased travel and spending.
The announcement, made by the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group, Anthony Chiejina, highlights the refinery’s proactive approach to easing economic pressures on citizens. This price reduction comes on the heels of an earlier cut to N970 per litre on November 24, showcasing a steady drive to make fuel more accessible during challenging times.
To further incentivize purchases, CableNews24 reports that the refinery introduced a unique credit facility. Customers buying PMS in cash can now access an additional litre on credit, provided they secure a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank. This initiative, described by Chiejina as a “holiday discount,” is designed to provide immediate financial relief while ensuring consistent fuel availability.
“To alleviate transport costs during this holiday season, Dangote Refinery is offering a holiday discount on PMS. From today, our petrol will be available at N899.50 per litre at our truck loading gantry or SPM.
“Furthermore, for every litre purchased on a cash basis, consumers will have the opportunity to buy another litre on credit, backed by a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank,” Chiejina said.
As Africa’s first privately-owned oil refining facility, Dangote Refinery has positioned itself as a key player in addressing Nigeria’s reliance on imported petroleum products. The company reiterated its mission to deliver high-quality, environmentally friendly fuel while combating the harmful effects of substandard imports on health, machinery, and the environment.
