FCMB, NNEW equip 215 women for business growth
First City Monument Bank (FCMB) and the NECA’s Network of Entrepreneurial Women (NNEW) have graduated 215 women entrepreneurs from the FCMB SheVentures Mentoring Programme. The initiative, designed to empower women with critical business skills, culminated in a virtual graduation ceremony.
The programme, which has reached its 11th cohort, provided participants with six weeks of intensive training in five essential business areas: strategic management, financial management, operations, sales and marketing, and human resources. With industry experts leading masterclasses and mentors offering tailored guidance, participants were equipped to tackle real-world challenges and scale their businesses effectively.
Speaking at the ceremony, the President of NNEW, Mrs. Adefunke Kuyoro, celebrated the graduates’ determination and emphasized the programme’s role in driving sustainable business growth. “This graduation marks the start of a new chapter where these women will make impactful contributions to the economy,” she said.
A highlight of the event was a keynote address by the Head of Women Banking at FCMB, Mrs. Nnenna Jagogo-Jack, who reiterated the bank’s commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs. She encouraged graduates to leverage the knowledge gained to expand their ventures and create lasting impact.
Managing Director and Cofounder of Lifefount Hospital, Dr. Yemisi Adeyeye, delivered a lecture on “Investment Readiness for Business Owners,” underscoring the importance of strategic planning and mentorship in securing business investments. She also stressed the value of maintaining strong financial records and scalable models.
The Project Director, Mrs. Eniola Mayowa, applauded the collaborative effort behind the programme, noting its success in instilling confidence and practical skills in participants. “This initiative highlights the power of community and knowledge-sharing in fostering entrepreneurial growth,” she stated.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates by Pastor Kemisola T’Oluwanimi, Head of NNEW Academy, who urged graduates to utilize their newly acquired tools and networks for business expansion and societal impact.
“The FCMB SheVentures Mentoring Programme exemplifies First City Monument Bank’s dedication to supporting women entrepreneurs with financial solutions, capacity-building initiatives, and access to vital networks, fostering a robust ecosystem for business success.”
