Haldane McCall expands affordable housing footprint, earns N2.5bn in ketu project
Haldane McCall Plc, a leading real estate and hospitality firm, has made significant strides in Nigeria’s housing sector, generating N2.5 billion from the sale of 34 housing units in Ketu, Lagos. The sales, completed earlier this year, underline the company’s role in addressing the nation’s housing deficit.
In a statement on Monday, the Group Managing Director, Edward Akinlade, highlighted the project’s significance in improving access to sustainable and affordable housing. “This project is a testament to our dedication to delivering sustainable housing solutions that empower communities and improve the standard of living. By focusing on affordability and quality, we are bridging the housing deficit while contributing to Nigeria’s economic development,” Akinlade said.
Haldane McCall’s focus on affordability and quality reflects its commitment to societal impact, aligning with government efforts to reduce the housing deficit. “These housing projects reflect our long-term strategy of balancing shareholder value with societal impact. Shareholders and investors can view this milestone as proof of our operational efficiency and financial prudence in executing large-scale projects,” Akinlade added.
The company also revealed its ambitious plans for 2025, including the first phase of a 1,200-unit affordable housing project in Majidun, Ikorodu, Lagos. This initiative, Akinlade noted, would serve as a cornerstone for long-term economic growth and community development.
In addition to its Lagos ventures, the company recently completed 48 affordable housing units in Porto Novo, Benin Republic, valued at N2.4 billion.
Haldane McCall has also announced its intention to list N11.98 billion worth of shares on the Nigerian Exchange Limited, a move expected to boost its financial capacity for further projects.
