Silverbird’s SWORD food battle inspires community and resilience

Silverbird Group has once again showcased its commitment to unearthing and celebrating Nigerian talent through its innovative initiative, Silverbird’s World of Records (SWORD). This year’s highlight was the SWORD Food Battle, a unique competition held in Lagos that combined entertainment with a display of extraordinary endurance and skill.

According to CableNews24, the contest saw participants engage in an intense food-eating challenge, emphasizing the resilience and determination characteristic of Nigerians. Abia Chukwuebuka emerged victorious after consuming an impressive 17 kg of food, earning the grand prize of N500,000. Victoria Okoli, who consumed 16.2 kg, and Daniel Sule, who managed 15.6 kg, secured the first and second runner-up positions, winning N300,000 and N200,000, respectively.

Silverbird Group’s Head of Digital Media, Olorunfemi Joshua, lauded the event’s success, noting its role in spotlighting Nigeria’s talent on the global stage. “As a nation with abundant talent, Silverbird is proud to provide a platform where Nigerians can shine. We are not just creating records; we are building legacies and showcasing them on the global media stage,” he said.

The competition also celebrated cultural richness by featuring African dishes provided by Cimple Foods, Silverbird’s official partner. The collaboration ensured a lively atmosphere for both participants and the hundreds of attendees who enjoyed the event.

Silverbird emphasized that the initiative transcends entertainment, serving as a bridge to foster community engagement while celebrating the unique abilities of Nigerians.
