Freight forwarding council targets industry transformation, revenue growth in 2025
The Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) has unveiled a comprehensive agenda aimed at driving professional excellence and boosting its internally generated revenue (IGR) in 2025.
In a New Year message addressed to stakeholders, practitioners, and staff, the Registrar of the Council, Mr. Kingsley Igwe, outlined strategic initiatives designed to foster growth and sustainability within Nigeria’s freight logistics industry. He emphasized the council’s commitment to setting higher professional standards and enhancing operational efficiency.
Igwe highlighted four strategic pillars that will guide the council’s efforts in the coming year: strengthening professional standards, capacity building, collaboration, and improved welfare. These, he said, will serve as the foundation for transforming the industry and positioning CRFFN as a leading regulatory authority.
“Our first step is to establish and enforce robust policies that will elevate professional standards within the freight logistics industry. By fostering a culture of compliance and excellence, we aim to position CRFFN as a leading regulatory authority,” Igwe stated.
The council plans to roll out comprehensive training programs for its staff to enhance their regulatory capabilities, aligning with its long-term vision and the government’s renewed hope agenda. Igwe underscored the importance of human capital development, describing it as pivotal to achieving the council’s goals.
Additionally, the CRFFN intends to strengthen collaborations with government agencies, private sector players, and sister organizations. According to Igwe, these partnerships will drive innovation, eliminate redundancies, and streamline regulatory processes.
“Create joint initiatives that drive innovation, sustainability, and revenue growth. Together, we can build a resilient freight logistics industry that contributes meaningfully to Nigeria’s economy,” he noted.
