Talent Search: Lagos Arts Contest Opens for Students

The talent search has begun as Lagos State launches a new arts and crafts competition targeting students to uncover and develop creative talent.
Cablenews24 reports that speaking at a press conference in Lagos, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Damilola Ayinde Marshal, announced that the talent search known as “Eko Arts and Crafts Competition” is open to secondary and tertiary students across the state.
According to the SA, registration for the talent search is currently open via https://ekoschoolsartsandcrafts.com and closes September 18th, while the competition itself runs from September 18th to October 2nd, culminating in an awards ceremony offering scholarships and recognition.

Marshal emphasized the competition’s dual purpose: fostering youth creativity and entrepreneurship within the arts sector, and preserving Lagos’s cultural heritage.
She stated that the talent search aims to equip participants with marketable skills and provide mentorship and exhibition opportunities, positioning Lagos as Africa’s creative hub. School administrators, teachers, and parents are urged to encourage student participation.
