Lagos Police Recover 75 Stolen Gadgets in Ikeja

Ikeja, Lagos – In a significant operation, the Lagos State Police Command’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS) recovered a large cache of electronic gadgets during a routine patrol in the Ikeja area. The recovery occurred early on Sunday, October 5, 2025, around 5:30 a.m., when officers intercepted two fleeing suspects near Allen Roundabout.

Cablenews24 reports that in a press statement by SP Abimbola Adebisi, ANIPR, MIPRA, Police Public Relations Officer,
Lagos State Command, disclosed that the suspects upon noticing the police, abandoned two large “Ghana Must Go” bags, prompting the RRS operatives to investigate.

He further stated that inside the bags, they found an impressive haul: 32 iPhones of various models, 38 smartphones from brands including Samsung, Redmi, Tecno, and Honor, as well as five laptops, several smart wristwatches, AirPods, a Samsung Tab, a Sorapad, and several damaged phones believed to have been stolen from Ikeja and its surrounding areas.

CSP Shola Jejeloye, Commander of the Rapid Response Squad, confirmed that preliminary investigations indicated the items were stolen property hastily discarded by the suspects. He urged members of the public who may have lost similar devices to visit the RRS Headquarters in Alausa, bringing verifiable proof of ownership for identification and recovery.

The Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, CP Moshood Jimoh, commended the operatives for their vigilance and quick response. He praised their professionalism and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to intelligence-led policing and proactive crime prevention to enhance public safety across Lagos State.
