2027: APC Stakeholders Rally Support for Tinubu 2nd Term Bid

Stakeholders of the Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) have thrown their full weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, unanimously endorsing him for a second term in the 2027 presidential election. The endorsement, delivered Tuesday at a massive gathering at Eko Hotels, Victoria Island, cited the President’s achievements over the past two years as justification.

Cablenews24 reports that the high-profile endorsement was attended by key party figures, including Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, former governors Babatunde Fashola and Akinwunmi Ambode, the Deputy Governor, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and members of the APC National Working Committee.

The motion for endorsement was formally moved by the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Shotobi, and seconded by the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Mudashiru Obasa.

Governor Sanwo-Olu confirmed the consensus, stating that the decision was unanimous and assured that the message would be delivered directly to Aso Rock. “All the representatives of the stakeholders on this stage have reached a conclusion that he… should present himself to return as our president,” Sanwo-Olu declared.

Call for Continuity and Unity

Deputy Governor Dr. Kadir Obafemi Hamzat emphasized the need for continuity, praising the administration’s “courage, vision, and commitment” to national transformation driven by the Renewed Hope agenda. He also pointed to the significant development seen in Lagos under Governor Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES+ agenda as proof of effective leadership.

Fashola, who delivered a lecture on voter apathy, used the forum to stress the importance of mobilizing young voters for the upcoming elections, noting the difficulty opponents face in replicating the unity that formed the APC.

The stakeholders stressed that ensuring victory for Tinubu and the APC in 2027 requires unity among all party leaders.
