Lagos: Omotoso Highlights Major Projects for Completion
Lagos State is set to complete and commission numerous major projects by the end of this year and throughout next year, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, has said.
Cablenews24 reports that while speaking to journalists, Omotoso affirmed the administration’s commitment, stating that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, are working to ensure no project is abandoned.
“All of the beautiful projects that we have started, we are going to complete them,” Omotoso stated.
He announced that the Opebi-Mende Link Bridge will be commissioned before the end of the year. He added that the new Massey Hospital is “almost completed” and will be commissioned next year, along with the General Hospital in Ojo.
The commissioner also highlighted a major food hub, set to be commissioned early next year, which he described as the “biggest in sub-Saharan Africa.” He noted the facility can store enough food to “feed like five million people at least for three months” and can be used to help reduce food inflation.
Omotoso confirmed that various road projects and rail lines are progressing. Phase 2 of both the Blue and Red Lines is ongoing, with the Red Line’s second phase expected to be finished before Governor Sanwo-Olu leaves office. He added that meetings for the Green Rail Line are underway.

In housing, Omotoso pointed to the recent commissioning of the Ajara project in Badagry, adding that the Odo-Onosa and Sangotedo schemes are also “almost ready.”
Furthermore, he announced that the “biggest school anywhere in West Africa,” located in Ajegunle, will be commissioned “very soon,” describing it as “amazing, as wonderful, as magical.”
The commissioner reiterated that no project will be left unfinished. “It’s not in the DNA of the APC administration to abandon projects,” he concluded. “Either in housing or in health or in infrastructure… no project is going to be abandoned.”
