Elon Musk Launches ‘Grokipedia,’ Claiming Wikipedia Is Biased Propaganda
Billionaire Elon Musk has officially launched Grokipedia, a new crowdsourced encyclopedia designed to challenge Wikipedia’s dominance by promising users “the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.”
Cablenews24 reports that Elon Musk, a long-time critic of Wikipedia whom he has accused of harboring “systemic ideological biases,” announced the site was live, featuring over 885,000 articles—a fraction of Wikipedia’s 7 million English entries.
The new platform is reportedly powered by xAI’s Grok chatbot. While Elon Musk advocates for its unique approach, questions remain over sourcing; critics note that some Grokipedia entries are sparsely referenced compared to their established counterparts.

This Online News Medium gathered that the Wikimedia Foundation, which runs Wikipedia, responded by noting that AI companies, including xAI, rely heavily on Wikipedia’s human-created, neutrally edited knowledge base for training. “Even Grokipedia needs Wikipedia to exist,” the foundation stated.
The launch has ignited a global debate over the future of online information, neutrality, and the power of AI in knowledge sharing.
