AFCON 2025: CANAL+& SuperSport Gets Global Broadcast Rights
CANAL+ has announced a landmark broadcast deal securing the global rights for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025™ (AFCON 2025). This deal, facilitated through CANAL+’s subsidiary, SuperSport, positions them as the first global broadcaster to offer comprehensive coverage of the tournament.
Cablenews24 reports that the 35th edition of the competition, kicking off in Morocco on December 21, 2025, will be broadcast in French, English, Portuguese, and local indigenous languages.
CANAL+ Africa CEO, David Mignot, highlighted the synergy created by the recent merger with MultiChoice Group. “This year’s TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations is a great demonstration of the power and potential of this common ambition: bringing together our expertise to offer unprecedented coverage,” Mignot stated.
CAF President, Dr. Patrice Motsepe, celebrated the announcement, noting that Africans globally will follow the games with pride.

Rendani Ramovha, Director of Sport Content for MultiChoice, confirmed that SuperSport will launch a dedicated AFCON channel for viewers in English and Portuguese-speaking regions, offering compelling viewing in local languages. Coverage will feature star analysts and legends alongside top African heroes like Victor Osimhen, Mohamed Salah, and Sadio Mané.
