Dangote Launches Hotline for Reporting Overpriced MRS Stations

Lagos, Nigeria – Dangote Petroleum Refinery has introduced a dedicated hotline for Nigerians to report MRS Oil Nigeria Plc filling stations selling Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) above the approved ₦739 per litre price.

Cablenews24 reports that the hotline, 0800 123 5264, allows consumers to flag violations at over 2,000 MRS stations nationwide, reinforcing the refinery’s push for fair pricing and market transparency.

This move follows Dangote’s recent rollout of PMS at ₦739 per litre—a relief measure during the festive season aimed at stabilizing fuel costs.

“Do not buy fuel above ₦739. Report violators immediately via our hotline,” the refinery urged in a statement, emphasizing its commitment to affordable, high-quality supply.

With a daily production capacity of 50 million litres, Dangote warned against artificial scarcity, urging regulators to crack down on price manipulation.

The refinery’s local production is reducing Nigeria’s fuel imports, saving foreign exchange, and boosting energy security.

“Creating scarcity to exploit consumers is unacceptable,” the statement added, calling for vigilance against profiteering during the holidays.

Consumers were advised to patronize only stations adhering to the approved rate.
