ACAOSA 2000 Set Reunites in Grand Style for 25th Anniversary

Agege, Lagos – January 3, 2026  – The Anwar-ul-Islam Model College Old Students’ Association (ACAOSA) 2000 (Millennium) Set celebrated its 25th anniversary in grand style at the school premises in Agege, Lagos. The Silver Jubilee event, held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, brought together alumni for a day of nostalgia, reconnection, and celebration of shared heritage.

Cablenews24 reports that it was a homecoming to remember as the festivities kicked off with an exclusive breakfast session featuring the set’s former Senior Prefect, Jimoh Ibrahim (Teddy), setting the tone for a day of bonding and reminiscence.

Mr. Rotimi Jimoh, President of the 2000 Set, opened the ceremony with a heartfelt welcome address, thanking attendees for their presence and commitment to the alma mater.

The keynote speech was delivered by ACAOSA Global President-General, Dr. Abdulfatai Agboola Afolabi, who emphasized the importance of unity, collaboration, and active participation in the association’s initiatives. He outlined ACAOSA’s vision, focusing on:

• Infrastructure development
• Human capacity building
• Enhancing the Annual Ramadan Lecture Programme

Accompanying the PG were VP 2, Mr. Rafiu Muhammed, and General Secretary, Mr. Badru A. Taofeeq.

In a touching moment, the PG honored former Principal Alh. Taofik Owolabi Folorunsho (T.O.F) Etti, recognizing his immense contributions to the school. The event took a lively turn as the PG, former Principal Etti, and the 2000 Set President shared a dance, creating an unforgettable highlight.

The celebration also included:

• Cash awards of ₦100,000 each to invited teachers in appreciation of their service.
• Distinguished Leadership Award for Principal Etti.
• Recognition Awards for dedicated teachers:
  • Mr. Rafiu Ibrahim (Economics)
  • Mr. Dave (Agricultural Science)
  • Mr. Adedibu (English Literature)
• Leadership Award presented to Mr. Rotimi Jimoh for his exceptional service as Set President.

The event was a resounding success, filled with laughter, nostalgia, and renewed camaraderie. Alumni rekindled old friendships, shared memories, and reaffirmed their commitment to the school’s growth.
