Governor Sanwo-Olu Promises Project Blitz in Lagos’ Pivotal 2026

Lagos, Nigeria – Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has declared 2026 a pivotal year for Lagos, promising accelerated delivery of transformational projects across critical sectors as he enters his final full year in office.

Cablenews24 reports that the Governor made the pledge on Sunday during the 26th Lagos State Annual Thanksgiving Service at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos Island, themed “Grateful for Unfailing Mercies” (Lamentations 3:22–23).

“2026 must count decisively for Lagosians,” Sanwo-Olu stated. “We will intensify our focus on infrastructure, inclusive development, and quality of life to finish strong.”

The event drew top government officials, including First Lady Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, Chief Judge Kazeem Alogba, and former leaders.

Sanwo-Olu acknowledged Lagos’ resilience amid economic challenges, crediting institutional continuity and residents’ support. He also mourned victims of the 2025 Great Nigeria Insurance House fire and Afriland Towers blaze, praising emergency responders’ bravery.

The Governor urged unity behind President Tinubu’s administration and encouraged APC membership drives. Clergymen offered prayers for national and state leadership, while gospel artists Yinka Alaseyori and Kunle Adeolu thrilled attendees.

“This year must leave a lasting legacy,” Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed. “Every Lagosian will feel the impact.”
