UBA Foundation Reaches 100,000+ Across Africa
The UBA Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, has completed a major humanitarian initiative across 20 African countries, providing critical support to over 100,000 vulnerable individuals.
Cablenews24 reports that the “Food Bank and Giving Back” program, which ran from November 2025 through January 2026, focused on delivering essential supplies and financial assistance to schoolchildren, orphanages, internally displaced persons camps, and economically disadvantaged communities.
“At UBA Foundation, we believe that true development begins with compassion and action,” said Bola Atta, Managing Director/CEO of UBA Foundation. “Through our various Food Bank and Giving Back initiatives, we are not only providing nourishment and essential support but also restoring hope and creating pathways for children and families to learn, grow, and thrive.”
The initiative provided aid to numerous institutions in Nigeria, including orphanages and IDP camps. Across Africa, the Foundation extended similar support to communities in 19 other countries. Atta emphasized the Foundation’s year-round commitment: “This is our commitment to Africa: to show up consistently, act responsibly, and leave no community behind.
” The UBA Foundation’s broader philanthropic efforts include programs focused on education, environmental sustainability, and economic empowerment.
