KSM VGC Launches Digital Skills Program for Youth Empowerment

The Knights of Saint Mulumba (KSM) is a prominent Catholic confraternity in Nigeria focused on spiritual growth, social justice, and community development. Over the weekend, KSM VGC officially launched its Digital Skills Acquisition Programme, welcoming 23 trainees from diverse backgrounds for its first cohort. These participants seek future-ready skills to unlock new career paths in an increasingly digital marketplace.

The program offers hands-on training in key digital competencies aligned with Nigeria’s economic needs:

• Digital Marketing: Online brand promotion and customer engagement strategies.
• Web Development: Website design, creation, and maintenance fundamentals.
• Data Analytics: Interpreting data trends to inform decisions.
• Cyber Security: Protecting digital assets and understanding security principles.
• Additional digital skills to meet evolving industry demands.

Emphasis is placed on practical learning through interactive sessions and real-world projects, ensuring trainees can apply what they learn immediately.

Sir Tony Ukairo, Worthy Grand Knight of KSM VGC, highlighted the program’s guiding principle: “empowerment over dependency.” Drawing from Matthew 4:19, he stressed that the goal is to equip youths to “catch their own fish” through sustainable digital skills, fostering self-reliance rather than temporary aid.

At the launch, trainees received motivational guidance emphasizing discipline, curiosity, collaboration, and persistence. The message reinforced that digital skills are crucial for competitiveness and called on the trainees to build a supportive learning community.
