Aspiring African filmmakers now have the opportunity to hone their craft through the MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF), which has officially launched applications for its 2026 intake. The fully funded, industry-backed programme seeks passionate filmmakers, directors, producers, scriptwriters, and storytellers eager to elevate African narratives.

Cablenews24 reports that as part of the CANAL+ ecosystem, MultiChoice remains dedicated to showcasing authentic African stories while equipping young creatives with the technical, creative, and business skills needed to succeed in the global entertainment industry.

Programme Highlights

• 9-month hybrid training (online & in-person)
• Hands-on experience with industry professionals
• Academies in Nigeria, Kenya, and Zambia, serving 14 African countries
• Real-world production opportunities with broadcast on DStv, GOtv, and Showmax

Since 2018, MTF has trained 296 filmmakers, who have produced 42 films during the programme. Graduates have gone on to:

• Work within MultiChoice productions
• Launch over 50 production companies
• Win awards at prestigious events like Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, Kalasha Awards, and Uganda Film Festival
• Showcase work at global platforms, including Durban FilmMart and European Film Market
