By Emetena Oyedokun
Ughelli, Delta State – Residents of Ughelli erupted in celebration as Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, officially launched the construction of the ₦39.3 billion Otovwodo Flyover project on Monday, marking a major milestone in the state’s infrastructure development.
Cablenews24 reports that the governor described the project as a permanent solution to the chronic traffic congestion at the busy Otovwodo Junction, a critical intersection on the East-West Road. He emphasized that the flyover aligns with his administration’s commitment to durable infrastructure, urban renewal, and inclusive economic growth.
“Ughelli is a historic commercial and educational hub, but its rapid growth has overwhelmed the road network,” Oborevwori said. “This flyover will eliminate gridlock, reduce travel time, and boost commerce.”
