Leather Hub Key to Empowerment-Oluremi Tinubu

MUSHIN, Lagos – Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu,has commissioned the new Lagos State Industrial Leather Hub in Matori, Mushin, on Saturday, describing it as key to empowerment and a major boost for artisans and the economy.

Cablenews24 reports that Tinubu praised Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the “bold and progressive initiative,” stating the state-of-the-art Leather Hub demonstrates Lagos’s commitment to job creation and sustainable development.

“This Leather Hub will transform leather processing, footwear production, and training,” Tinubu declared.

“I congratulate the Governor of Lagos State, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for this bold and progressive initiative. By investing in this Hub, the Lagos State Government has once again demonstrated its commitment to job creation, productivity and sustainable economic development. I say well done,” she said.

The First Lady described leather work as a traditional craft that has stood the test of time and expressed confidence that the leather hub will serve as a center for leather processing, footwear production, and specialized training, enabling artisans to compete effectively in both local and international markets.

She urged artisans, entrepreneurs, and youth to fully utilize the hub’s resources, dedicating themselves to excellence, hard work, continuous learning, and positioning their products for the global market.
